Der Mittelstand. BVMW e.V.

 

Der Mittelstand BVMW  e.V. is the largest, voluntarily organized, cross-industry association representing the interests of German SMEs. Relying on ca. 300 regional networking offices  Der Mittelstand BVMW  e.V. organizes a total of around 2,000 events of various formats per year. It is also one of the leading members of European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME, the largest European Confederation of voluntarily organised SMEs. The Bildungsallianz des Mittelstand, B@M-BVMW, is an initiative of  Der Mittelstand BVMW  e.V.”. It consist of 25 member associations and non-profit companies which represent ca. 380.000 teachers and educators and issue focused foundations. The B@M-BVMW works on education especially on technical education and vocational training with respect to the needs of SMEs. It participates in political decision making and promotes new approaches in teaching and project-based learning. The B@M-BVMW helps the more than 300 regional networking offices of Der Mittelstand BVMW  e.V.  and its 55.000 member companies to foster education issues. The B@M-BVMW develops a special Fab-Lab concept for medium sized cities to attract interest of young people in STEM. The B@M-BVMW publishes press releases frequently with an average public response of several million recipients. The press releases currently concern education issues on the federal and regional level as well. In addition, the B@M-BVMW is part of ministerial working and advising groups on education, science, and research issues.

Der Mittelstand BVMW  e.V.‘s main contribution to YSC project will consist of conducting and evaluating surveys on students' knowledge and skills in relation to the themes and objectives of the YSC; secondly, it consists of communicating and disseminating the results of the project at European level.
