Prywatne Akademickie Liceum Ogólnokształcące (PALO)

Prywatne Akademickie Liceum Ogólnokształcące (PALO) is a private school located in Piaseczno, a town just outside Poland’s capital, Warsaw. There are around 100 students altogether, aged 14-18, while individual classes range from 14 to 20 students each.

PALO is a 4-year secondary school preparing students to pass their state maturity exam (equivalent to A-level) within one of four higher level profiles: 1) humanities, 2) society and business, 3) mathematics, physics and IT, 4) biology and chemistry.

PALO is a bilingual school i.e. while the first language of instruction in Polish, some lessons are taught in English. English is also the first foreign language, obligatory for all students, while they choose their second language among French, German and Spanish.

The European dimension is a priority in our work. We have successfully carried out a number of Erasmus (and other) international projects, with partner schools from 7 EU countries. Every year we celebrate Europe Day, organize Oxford-style debates on European matters and go on study trips to places of cultural interest in Europe (France, Italy, Germany, Lithuania).

Project work is also a daily part of our school life. Annual projects are carried out within the domain of citizenship (Independence Day, Constitution Day, Europe Day) and science (Beyond the Horizon, Odyssey of the Mind). Teachers continue to improve their methodology through participation in training courses in Poland and abroad.
